Verified ReviewerNOT LIKE THE OLD DAYS! it all gone AIRBNB
It's not like the old days! Exchanging a week has become an extortion game.
The new AI-generated software reroutes American members to exchange out of the country. Vacation exchanges out of the country have multiple listings, a vast number of weeks, and endless resorts.
What's the point of paying maintenance fees, exchange fees, membership fees, and taxes when all that money can be used to just take a vacation? It's an extortion Ponzi scam scheme.
- Large foreign resort directory
- Dream
- Expensive foreign resort directory and food and fees
- Not a fair american resort exchange company
- Ai technology trolls your searches
Preferred solution: Deliver product or service ordered

Verified Reviewer | Edmonton, AlbertaCustomer Service
I had a phone call from Interval Travel yesterday but I was in the midlst of an activity and could not continue the call. I was told that I could call back the next day which was today (Saturday).
Upon inputing the local number I had to leave a message but was cut off before I could do so. Phoning back to the same number, a message informed me that the office was closed for the week end. Many, if not most of us, can spend the time waiting on the phone and conducting requests on week ends.
For this company to close on week ends is counterproductive, to say the least. That is decidedly not any consideration for customer service.
User's recommendation: Do not expect decent customer service

Verified Buyer | The Bronx, New YorkPrice difference
My name is Vicky Day I called and spoke to Several customer services on 3/30/24 1:30 pm who inform me that the prices are different from on the website. I booked Williamsburg Virginia for August 1-8 .
The Prices are regular and for gold 702. I was charged 727 instead of gold prices. They also had a flash sale 50.00 of which suppose to make my 652.00. You then at the taxes 95.00 and total will be $747.00.
They charged me $777.00 instead. They refused to let me speak to a supervisor. They told me that the prices on the website are wrong and increased it on their end. They told me i am getting a deal .I have been a member since 1998 and never felt so disrespected.
I know the prices represent what you buy. They had Poor customer service. What is the sense of getting gold and being charged regularly. I will not get gold nor Platinum again.
One of the people was Luke. Luke told me he can not help me because of his Colleagues but he did see the problem but could not do anything about it.
I also asked for a Break down , But they refused to give it to me. I don't want this to happen to anyone else.
User's recommendation: Beware ! sometimes being gold or Platinum isn't great.

This place I was given as an exchange is not livable. It cannot even be rated, no internet service in the rooms, no decent TV that can be seen, broken utensils, ants everywhere.
It is a place that I should not be part of.
I request another place in south or middle Italy ASAP. Please send me an email today.

Very Poor Customer Relations and Protecting Customers from Resort Mis-Management
We had a two bedroom resort reservation with some guests to stay at Grand Lux at Vedanta Nuevo Vallarta. For medical reasons, we were not allowed across the boarder, but the resort said we could add our friends to the reservation and they could check in.
Interval International refused to add them to the reservation, and thus the resort charged our guests $2600 for ONE NIGHT. When I pointed this out to Interval International that the resort was already paid for by Interval through my Exchange, and that our friends were charged for the same room, Interval did nothing.
They did not care that long time Interval members and their guests were charged twice for the same room by this resort or the circumstances behind it. Horrible!!!
User's recommendation: Avoid Interval International at all costs.

Verified ReviewerWhy would I want to pay a membership fee before I knew what I would get for that?
As others have found Interval is bordering on being a scam. I am told they have other locations I can trade my top of the line timeshare for, but I am not able to determine if they are open to trade or what conditions and restrictions there are, without paying a $99 fee up front.
They also do not have a complaint department and that speaks volumes right there.
Where else do you need to pay $99 (US) just to be able to look through their web page...I can only believe it is because their system is a pile of S&&T and they want their money up front before you find that out. Bait and switch..not really but a scam for sure.
- Have to pay
- Just to understand their system
Preferred solution: Should provide free memberships so we can explore the site and only charge fees if we use their services.
User's recommendation: Avoid them or expect sneaky results and costs
Terrible website experience
Website and system is slow or not working properly. At the time of this review their website isn't even working, with no notice of when the website will be functional again.
The entire reservation and point system is also unclear and lacks simple explanation, requring members needing to call in, making the website useless.
Lack of clarity leads to continual doubt of services and value of cost.
User's recommendation: Look for alternative timeshares or sell what you have for cash
At the hotel they don't have my reservation
They dont have my reservation they dont have my reservation So is there anyone to talk to to figure this out?
Preferred solution: Full refund

Verified Reviewer | Columbia, MissouriInterval Intl rep hung up on me
First - their phone # is not listed on the member site, so had to go online to find a customer service #. Was transferred 3 times and had to give same info this 3 times to 3 different reps.
Second - in order to even be able to do an availability search I either have to bank my week as an exchange or use a certificate from a prior banked week.
However, if I do that and then there isn't a resort available in the location and timeframe I want to travel, my week remains banked -- I don't want to bank it unless I know what I'm looking for is available. Ridiculous that you can't first search for availability at a destination within a timeframe before committing your week for exchange or a certificate for usage.
Third - when I started asking why either they or I couldn't perform a search first without having to bank my week or commit usage of a certificate and mentioned that with our RCI member site I can perform a search first before committing to bank one of our weeks the rep hung up on me!
User's recommendation: If your timeshare or resort uses Interval International as their exchange service - get out!!

Verified Reviewer | South Miami, FloridaRented 2 units booked, left stranded
Salome(sp) is the worst that Interval has to offer. She was not only condescending, she told me a run down property would be more in my budget after taking 2 units booked in July, 2 days before arrival!
She transferred me to the "escalated" line on hold for an hour, got Diego and placed on hold again to research and transferred back to Salome.
What type of racket is this??
She gave me the escalated line number. Turned out to be the gift card line.
Interval, I want my $2700 back, save the canned apology.

This organization with paid membership has never provided the accommodations I have requested.
Pid membership, then paid an exchange fee tto use my membership for an exchange to a property in NYC in October. Today advised that the exchange is still pending. We have no lodging for our trip in NYC.
